Dr. Burns is a native of north Georgia and has been in practice in the Decatur/Emory area for over 30 years. He received his DDS degree from Emory University and completed an advanced hospital based dental residency at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. After that, he returned to Emory to complete his post-graduate training in Periodontics where he served as chief resident in his final year.

 

Upon completion of his specialty training, he was invited to join the faculty at Emory where he taught in the post-graduate residency programs.

He has been a frequent guest lecturer at multiple advanced dental education groups in Atlanta and has presented research at the Georgia Dental Association annual meeting.
